Ali Battisson is a human rights lawyer with international recognition for her impactful work in advocating for the rights of refugees, stateless individuals, as well as those detained or imprisoned wrongly by governments.
Her mission is to provide aid to the voiceless, the vulnerable, and the not believed. Ali is a staunch advocate for the marginalized, focusing on women at risk, minorities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as the disabled, and First Nations people whose complicated or unrecognised citizenship puts them at risk of being deported. In addition, she has played a crucial role in assisting female athletes, their families and others escape Kabul, Afghanistan in August 2021. Over 110 people were airlifted to safety as a result. Ali continues to work within Australian borders as well as with overseas clients to bring the marginalised at risk to safety.
