Driven by a belief in second chances and the potential for positive change for all individuals, Ali champions those seeking a renewed opportunity to lead productive lives, acknowledging the inherent fallibility of human beings.
Her philosophy of "believe and verify" underscores her approach. She initially trusts her clients' narratives, then meticulously investigates and verifies the details.
Once she takes on a client, they’ve got someone incredibly strong in their corner. Ali is known for her tireless advocacy, taking on challenging legal cases that others wouldn’t. She maintains a “never give up” mentality and maintains close contact with her clients throughout the process.
Her cases are often highly complex and drawn out - Ali stays with clients, even for years, to see them through to a positive outcome.
Ali is a commentator, expert, legal strategist, and consultant.
She counsels on matters of liberty, freedom, and human rights. Her expertise encompasses legal and non-legal strategies in advocacy and international relations, including assisting Australians detained overseas.
She navigates complex systems, knowing how to strategically engage diplomats, politicians, and the press at the right times to help drive the right result.
Ali’s broader vision is to drive government accountability through public awareness and education, empowering citizens to effect change through their votes.

Ali’s professional journey is marked by a significant transition from corporate law to human rights advocacy.
She originally gained experience in top-tier firms across Australia, the UK, and Indonesia.
This diverse legal background equipped her with a unique perspective and skill set that helped her in the establishment of her charitable law practice, Human Rights 4 All, which she created to address the critical need for legal representation for vulnerable individuals within immigration detention.
Her work focused on challenging the principles of liberty within Australian law, with the aim of reforming the system.
And that she did, with the monumental decision in November 2023 from the High Court of Australia that ruled indefinite immigration detention to be unlawful.
Her academic achievements include:
-
Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney.
-
Bachelors of Asian Studies and Arts from the Australian National University.

Post Graduate Certificate in Law from the University of London.
-
Masters of Law (Human Rights and Social Justice) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
